Roofsol Energy has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Associated Capsules Group (ACG) for a 5 MWp solar power project integrated with a 4 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Maharashtra. The project will be developed under the OPEX model and marks Roofsol Energy’s entry into the commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage segment.

ACG World is a manufacturer of empty hard capsules and pharmaceutical packaging solutions, serving customers across the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. The solar-plus-storage project is expected to help the company optimise its energy consumption, enhance power resilience and increase its use of cleaner electricity.

The project combines 5 MWp of solar generation capacity with 4 MWh of BESS, enabling the integration of energy storage with renewable generation for an industrial consumer. According to Roofsol Energy, the project represents its first BESS order in the C&I segment.

The agreement comes as Roofsol Energy expands its OPEX-based renewable energy portfolio. In July, the company signed a 10.44 MWp rooftop solar PPA with Shyam Steel Industries for its manufacturing facility in Durgapur, West Bengal. It also signed a 17 MWp rooftop solar PPA with Foxconn for an OPEX-based project at the company’s facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

For FY27, Roofsol Energy has set a target of investing in 200 MWp of rooftop solar assets through PPAs, with more than 50 MWp already signed and under execution, according to the company. In June 2026, Roofsol secured ₹260 crore in funding from Aseem Infrastructure Finance to support solar IPP projects and expand its C&I solar portfolio across India.

The ACG agreement strengthens Roofsol Energy’s presence in the C&I renewable energy market while highlighting the growing adoption of solar-plus-storage solutions among industrial consumers seeking cleaner and more reliable power.
