NTPC REL Invites Bids for Supply and Installation of 600 MW Wind Turbine Generators in Andhra Pradesh

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the supply and installation of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) for a 600 MW ISTS-connected wind energy project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

The project will comprise 200 wind turbine generators, with the tender requiring WTGs of suitable approved models. NTPC REL intends to develop the wind energy projects through competitive bidding and/or bilateral arrangements.

According to the Invitation for Bids (IFB), the tender was issued on August 19, 2026, with bidding documents available for download until August 29, 2026. The pre-bid conference and last date for submission of bidder queries is scheduled for September 1, 2026, while the deadline for submission of techno-commercial and price bids is September 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM IST. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM.

The tender carries a bid security requirement of ₹50 crore.

Under the technical qualification requirements, bidders must either be manufacturers of an approved WTG model with a minimum rating of 3 MW listed in the latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM-Wind) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), or an eligible Indian subsidiary, holding or group company of a qualifying manufacturer.

The financial qualification criteria require bidders to meet an average annual turnover threshold calculated at ₹102.40 lakh per MW, based on the quoted capacity or 660 MW, whichever is lower. The requirement may also be met through a qualifying holding company subject to the conditions specified in the tender.

NTPC REL has identified the tender through Tender Search Code NTPCREL-2026-TN000034 on the electronic tendering portal. Interested bidders are required to register on the designated electronic tendering platform and submit the prescribed Non-Disclosure Agreement to obtain access to the bidding documents.

The tender represents another major step in the development of wind power capacity in Andhra Pradesh and comes as India continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, with wind power playing an important role alongside solar generation.
