KPI Green Energy Commissions 200 MW Solar Capacity for Coal India at Khavda Solar Park

KPI Green Energy Limited has announced the successful commissioning of 200 MW (AC) / 269 MW (DC) solar power capacity for Coal India Limited at GIPCL’s Solar Park in Khavda, Gujarat. The commissioned capacity forms part of the larger 300 MW (AC) / 405 MW (DC) grid-connected ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project being executed by the company on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis. The commissioning has been certified by the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).

The latest milestone further strengthens KPI Green Energy’s presence at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, one of India’s largest renewable energy hubs. The project reflects the company’s continued capability in executing large-scale utility solar projects and reinforces its position as a key EPC player in India’s fast-growing renewable energy sector.

With the commissioning of the initial 200 MW capacity, work on the remaining portion of the 300 MW project is expected to continue. The company stated that the project aligns with its long-term growth strategy and contributes to KP Group’s vision of developing a 10 GW clean energy portfolio by 2030.

The development also supports Coal India Limited’s ongoing diversification into renewable energy as the public sector enterprise expands its clean energy portfolio alongside its conventional business. The Khavda Renewable Energy Park continues to play a pivotal role in India’s renewable energy expansion, facilitating the deployment of large-scale solar projects that contribute to the country’s clean energy and decarbonization objectives.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the successful commissioning has been completed in accordance with project requirements and certified by GEDA, marking another significant milestone in KPI Green Energy’s execution journey.
