Hoymiles has launched two new solutions, HiSwitch and HiBox, designed to simplify whole-home backup and improve the flexibility of residential energy storage systems. The new products are designed to work with the company’s HiOne All-in-One Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling seamless off-grid switching and providing homeowners with a more integrated approach to backup power.

HiSwitch combines a transfer switch, circuit breaker, meter, bypass switch and current transformer (CT) into a five-in-one unit. Designed for installation directly inside a household distribution board using a DIN-rail configuration, the compact system is intended to reduce the number of components, cabling and installation work required. It supports a maximum bypass current of 100 A, allowing it to handle a range of household loads, including high-power appliances.

Hoymiles said HiSwitch is rated for 6,000 high-current switching cycles and has a 6 kA short-circuit current rating (SCCR), while its replaceable design can allow installers to replace the unit separately rather than replacing the entire energy storage system. The company estimates that this approach can reduce replacement time by up to 80 percent.

HiBox functions as the central control hub for whole-home backup and is designed to support system expansion as household energy requirements increase. The solution allows users to add a second inverter to increase capacity and backup capability, while supporting compatible third-party generators and PV inverters. It also provides data monitoring without requiring additional metering equipment and enables intelligent management of loads connected through its Smart Port.

By combining HiSwitch and HiBox with the HiOne All-in-One BESS, Hoymiles aims to offer a more integrated residential energy ecosystem that can simplify installation, support future expansion and improve household energy resilience. The company said the new solutions are intended to give homeowners greater flexibility in building whole-home backup systems while making better use of available clean energy.
