ChargeIndia Debuts to Bring India’s Fragmented EV Charging Networks Into One Connected Experience

ChargeIndia announced its entry into India’s EV ecosystem as a unified charging platform that allows users to access multiple public charging networks through a single app. At launch, ChargeIndia brings together more than 40 charge point operators (CPOs) across 1,200+ cities, allowing electric car owners to discover chargers across networks, check availability, navigate to a station, initiate charging, and pay directly through UPI without maintaining prepaid balances across multiple charging wallets. The app is live on Android and iOS.

India’s charging infrastructure has expanded rapidly as EV adoption has grown. According to the Ministry of Heavy Industries, India had 52,718 public charging stations as of July 2026, including 16,561 fast-charging stations for cars. The Ministry of Power’s EV charging guidelines have also outlined standards for creating a connected and interoperable charging network. As infrastructure expands across more operators, the next challenge is not only adding chargers, but making different charging networks easier and more consistent for consumers to access.

One of the most common pain points for EV owners is money getting locked across multiple charging wallets as they move between CPO networks. By enabling direct UPI payment for each charging session, ChargeIndia removes the need to preload and maintain separate wallets across networks.

Participating charging networks include Statiq, ChargeMOD and ChargeZone, among others. Beyond its consumer app, ChargeIndia is designed to enable charging access within other digital platforms as well. OEMs, mobility platforms and other consumer-facing applications can integrate with ChargeIndia to access multiple charging networks without building separate integrations with individual CPOs.
