AMPIN Energy Transition Secures USD 195 Million Green Financing from SMBC and Rabobank for 100 MW Hybrid RE Project

Ampin Energy Transition announces the successful financial close of a USD 195 Mn long-term project finance facility for our 100 MW PPA capacity hybrid renewable energy project in Andhra Pradesh, integrating solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to deliver reliable, dispatchable clean power during peak demand.

As grid dynamics continue to evolve and demand patterns become increasingly time-sensitive, storage-backed hybrid renewable energy solutions are playing a pivotal role in addressing intermittency, enhancing grid reliability, and enabling long-term energy security. The transaction reflects the growing maturity of sustainable infrastructure financing, with the project aligned to the Green Loan Principles and structured in accordance with the Equator Principles, reinforcing our commitment to responsible capital deployment and strong environmental and social governance standards.
The transaction was executed with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) and Rabobank acting as Mandated Lead Arrangers, Green Loan Coordinators, and Joint Structuring Banks, with support from HSF Kramer, JSA Advocates, and Aurora Energy Research and Tractebel, ensuring alignment with internationally recognized sustainable finance frameworks.
The transaction comes at a time when India’s electricity demand is becoming increasingly time-sensitive and grid dynamics continue to evolve. Storage-backed hybrid renewable energy projects can help address the intermittency associated with renewable generation while enhancing grid reliability and supporting long-term energy security.
For the transaction, SMBC and Rabobank acted as Mandated Lead Arrangers, Green Loan Coordinators and Joint Structuring Banks. The financing was supported by HSF Kramer, JSA Advocates, Aurora Energy Research and Tractebel, with the parties helping ensure alignment with internationally recognised sustainable finance frameworks.
The transaction also reflects the increasing sophistication of India’s renewable energy financing ecosystem, where technological innovation, engineering complexity and structured financing are increasingly converging to support the country’s clean energy transition.
